We frequently update the glossary with terms that may be used in our products and services or generally used within the device programming and tape & reel industry.
A/D, ADC. An electronic circuit that converts a continuously varying signal (temperature, pressure, voltage, etc.) into digital zeroes and ones that can be processed by a microprocessor or microcontroller.
Ball Grid Array. A surface mount device with solder balls and a high pin count, similar to PGA.
A signal or port that can act as either an input to or an output from an electronic circuit.
Bipolar, Complementary-Symmetry Metal Oxide Semiconductor. An integrated circuit fabrication technology that combines the two major IC technologies, bipolar and CMOS, on one IC.
The original semiconductor manufacturing process technology. Usually characterized by high-speed, high-power operation.
An instrument that allows you to observe the behavior of digital signals in an embedded system.
