For 10 years Adaptsys has distributed for the world's leading names in device programmers, tape & reel and carrier tape. Adaptsys also offers a range of its own products, including tape forming machines, carrier tapes and integrated programming systems.
We are currently looking for a Field Service Engineer who will contribute with professionalism to the good functioning of our product line, whilst exceeding our customer’s expectations.  Role is predominantly home-office based supporting customers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Travel within the EU will also be required as well as potential for Rest of the World travel.
 
Responsibilities ·         Assisting customers via email and phone, software / hardware troubleshooting ·         Field service in the after-sales business and for new installations ·         Provide basic to advanced training on systems ·         Carry out maintenance and repairs independently ·         RMA processing ·         Escalation of product issues ·         Execute modifications and upgrades of existing machines ·         Perform machine inspections and audits ·         Install machinery based on plans and engineering drawings ·         Customer support and care at customer site ·         Interface between customer and suppliers
 
Job Profile ·         You should have a technical education and be able to demonstrate excellent mechanical and electrotechnical knowledge; training as an electrician would also be an advantage. You see yourself as a service provider and possess a friendly and confident manner ·         Ability to work independently ·         Full driving licence and willingness to travel ·         Fluency in German; English is spoken within the company ·         Other language skills are a positive ·         Outstanding listening, oral and written communications ·         Previous customer service or technical support experience preferred but not essential ·         Understanding of technical specifications ·         Analytical/Logical thinking for solving technical tasks ·         Highly organized and self-directed ·         Ability to travel independently for domestic and international service calls for periods of up to 2 weeks ·         Must hold an EU passport for ease of travel around EU and RoW ·         Preferred location is Frankfurt area
